High composure and adrenaline rushing is what i experienced during every play. High school football is what entertained me during my four years of High school. Playing on the football team was not only an hobby but also meant a lot to me as i sacrificed my life and dedicated my body every play. Playing football also taught me to stride to be successful at things i needed to get done using knowledge and determination. Many people think as football as just a sport but in reality it’s much more as i looked at my teammates like an second family. Playing football is the experience that has the largest impact on my life, not only building my strength but also teaching me values and responsibilities in life that helped me on and off the field as a young mature adult. One experience that really shaped me in many different ways is when I was benched for an whole week of practice and the game. The reason I was benched was for good reasoning I had been slacking and not performing my best as a school student first. My coach had made a personal visit to my house to inform me of the decision. When i first heard the news i was really upset and thought it was very unfair, so i scheduled a visit between the coach and my parents. During the meeting the coach addressed all the reasons of why he planned on benching me but the one thing that he said that has had the biggest impact on my life is “ I don’t care how much of a good athlete you are matter of fact I don’t care if you was the best athlete ever to play the game, but I tell you one thing without the grades your talent will go unused and you’ll find yourself struggling to get in school or even working at a minimum wage job”. This specific experience has impacted my life because Coach made me realize that it is mandatory that I always put school first and everything else Afterwards.
